Providing evidence for policies to mitigate the negative effects of the pandemic

The third report Rapid Social Impact Assessment of the COVID-19 Outbreak in Montenegro, produced by the UN System in Montenegro, provides a detailed insight into the social impact of the new coronavirus pandemic crisis on the general population, and in particular on the vulnerable groups in Montenegro. The latest report covers the period from April to June 2021.

As in the first two rounds of assessment, the third one used a mixed method of collecting data on the impact and experience of different segments of the population, including those most affected by the coronavirus pandemic in Montenegro, in order to identify new social groups that have become particularly vulnerable due to the crisis.

Based on national and international standards and obligations regarding the human rights protection and the protection of refugees, this assessment is based on the key principle of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development – to leave no one behind.

The aim of this assessment is to provide decision-makers with evidence to adjust existing and future policies and program interventions to mitigate the negative effects of the pandemic on the Montenegrin population, with a special focus on protecting the fundamental rights of the most vulnerable ones.
