MAF: The Journey Towards Sustainable Development

The achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Montenegro is a major undertaking for the country, which will only succeed if we all come together. The full SDGs realization in Montenegro is possible only if all - state, private sector and individuals come together to make a real change.

This is the story about a vehicle of one such a partnership - the Montenegro SDG Acceleration Fund (MAF) - a pooled funding mechanism which aims to help acceleration of SDGs implementation in Montenegro, and at the same time to support country’s key national priority – EU accession process, given the high level of complementarities of two development processes. This new generation financial tool pools donor funds and directs them towards sustainable development initiatives. The Fund is set to fuel the UN Cooperation Framework in the period of 2023-2027.
